Copenhagen Invitational is a top tier youth tournament arranged and carried out in cooperation with two Danish basketball clubs, Vaerlose and Birkeroed.

The Copenhagen Invitational tournament was founded in 2008 with the help of a group of volunteers that set out to create the opportunity for the most talented youth in our clubs, to compete against the top level of competition, reaching out internationally. The first year the tournament had 12, U14 boys teams which included National Teams from Austria, Sweden, Denmark and Poland. The tournament started off and continues to run, completely by volunteers. Everyone has ties to their local basketball clubs, volunteering their time to support this basketball tournament. A lot of fun, sweat and more than 2000 volunteer working hours annually make Copenhagen Invitational continually grow and develop into what we have today - which is the biggest youth basketball event in Denmark.

In 2016 the tournament was awarded by FIBA Europe as the best youth tournament in Europe, based on organizational standards and the good level of games. We are proud of this award.

The tournament collaborates with a number of national federations, academies and club programs steadely year in and out. But every year, the tournament also welcomes new participants from different countries.
